My husband and I like those very much, we don't have strangers crawling over us or have to crawl over them when we need to get up. If the 777 you are f,hint has the 2/5/2 seat configuration try and get one of the two on either side.
We fly to Hi frequently but usually from Houston, not from Chicago.

You can check the UA webpage about 3 days before your flight to see the exact aircraft you'll be on and which serviced are offered. Power ports at each seat have been added to the majority of the aircraft that flies this route. My wife and I had no issues at all with the service on iPhone 6/5s and a Galaxy Tab.

There IS in flight entertainment, but it is via wifi streaming to your phone, tablet or laptop. Others around us that ate the sandwiches for sale seemed fine with it. We chose to bring our own food onto the plane each way to avoid headache, and were glad we did. There is no meal service for economy, but there will be sandwiches for purchase. This means two cabins, first/economy & econ plus. Hunt: The equipment is a Boeing 777-200 in the Hawaii configuration. You could end up flying a TPAC 747, being moved to service to Asia, and get different entertainment.

If you have any tablet, please do download and install the UA app, in case that is the only IFE on the flight - most likely, but not guaranteed. That is no longer a premier route, and I miss those days drastically.
Still, UA has scaled by the craft used for HNL service, as so very many pax are flying on miles, or upgrading on miles. Heck, we just had a three-cabin class 777 between IAD and IAH, as that ship was being moved to the USA West Coast for TPAC service, and then, we had a three-cabin class 777 between LAX and SFO! By the time we got the seat into lie-flat mode, it was time to prepare for landing. Some years before, long after the 747's were taken out of HNL service from the Mainland, we flew one of those - sort of a nostalgic voyage for us, as we used to fly those in the "glory days" of UA and Hawai`i. A few years back, we had a three-cabin class 772, from the TPAC routes. Now, as we fly to HNL often, and from different USA Mainland airports, we have seen some different equipment on our routes. I have not encountered that on any recent flights to HNL, regardless of the originating airports.Įven in FC, out of ORD, or IAH, the only IFE has been via streaming audio and video, and using the UA app.
